FooYoung Invited to Participate in the "Colorful Fluorite" Themed Exhibition at the China Geological MuseumOn January 15, 2019, Xi'an FooYoung Mineral Gem Co., Ltd. participated in the "Colorful Fluorite" thematic exhibition held at the China Geological Museum. This "Colorful Fluorite" exhibition was structured around the themes of "Abundant Fluorite Resources," "Colorful Fluorite Mineral Crystals," "Dazzling Fluorite Gemstones," and "Versatile Industrial Uses of Fluorite." It aimed to disseminate knowledge about fluorite resources, showcase beautiful fluorite crystals and jewelry, and promote the achievements in fluorite industrial applications.
To meet the growing public demand for appreciating mineral crystals, FooYoung specially brought exquisite fluorite mineral crystals for display. The exhibition showcased fluorite mineral crystals, fine gemstones, and their product applications, demonstrating the inherent peculiarity, delicacy, and magnificence of mineral crystals to the public.Below, the editor will introduce the exquisite fluorite crystals we carefully prepared and brought for display~
This exhibition also displayed many exquisite fluorite crystals from abroad, which possess excellent structural forms. However, it also reflected that domestic Chinese fluorites are very comprehensive and eye-catching, both in terms of their quality, color, crystal form characteristics, and their practical applications. Now, let the editor take you through the basic knowledge of fluorite~Fluorite is a mineral primarily composed of calcium fluoride (CaF2) and is the main source of fluorine in industry. The main component of fluorite is calcium fluoride. Chemical formula: CaF2, where Ca accounts for 51.1% and F for 48.9%. It often contains many impurities; Ca can be replaced by rare earth elements like Y and Ce. It also contains small amounts of Fe2O3, SiO2, and trace amounts of Cl, O3, H, etc.Main production areas of fluorite in China: Hunan, Henan, Hubei, Zhejiang.
Fluorite has wide-ranging applications. It is mainly used in three major industries: Metallurgy, Chemical Industry, and Building Materials, followed by use in Light Industry, Optics, Carving, and National Defense Industries. Additionally, fluorite is widely used in the building materials industry such as glass, ceramics, and cement.Metallurgical IndustryBefore the 1970s, fluorite was mainly used as a flux in iron and steel smelting. In recent years, it has been partially substituted by dolomite and lime. Fluorite can lower the melting point of refractory minerals, form easily flowing slag, facilitate the separation of slag and metal, remove harmful impurities like phosphorus and sulfur, and enhance the malleability and tensile strength of metals. Therefore, it is widely used in ferrous and non-ferrous metal smelting, ferroalloy production, and iron-making processes.
Compared to previous exhibitions, the arrangement of mineral crystals in this China Geological Museum exhibition was extremely aesthetically pleasing. The display standard was outstanding; it perfectly presented the exquisite side of mineral crystals through reasonable use of placement locations and techniques. It also allowed us to learn how to arrange mineral crystals to more perfectly showcase their beauty.
Fluorite plays an important role from pure collection to industrial development and daily applications, such as in life art and jewelry. This exhibition featured many exquisite life art pieces and jewelry, truly magnificent and exquisitely crafted. Now, let the editor guide you in appreciating them together~
▲ At the conclusion of the exhibition, Chairman Zhang Jun (right in the picture), as the President of the Chenzhou Mineral Crystal Association, represented the association in donating 24 pieces of Chenzhou fluorite to the China Geological Museum.Simultaneously, our FooYoung company and the Chenzhou Mineral Crystal Association will continue to support the popularization of mineral crystal knowledge. We aim to enhance the public's ability to appreciate mineral gems and their understanding of the development and utilization of mineral resources. We will keep our mission in mind and strive to present a wonderful visual feast for the general public.I write articles repeatedly, not to urge everyone to buy jewelry, but to let you know our dedication and seriousness towards this cause. Because I believe that one day, my persistence will shine like a beam of light, breaking through constraints, radiating its own glow, and illuminating the path ahead.
