China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Show Opens in Chenzhou
The China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Show is approved by the State Council and jointly hosted by the Ministry of Land and Resources and the Hunan Provincial People's Government. It is the only designated exhibition and trading platform for minerals and gems in Hunan and one of the largest professional mineral and gem exhibitions in Asia. The previous two sessions were held in Changsha. In August 2014, the provincial government decided that Chenzhou would host the third session of the China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Show.
Jiang Daming, Minister of Land and Resources and National Chief Land Inspector, announced the opening of the event.
Du Jiahao, Secretary of the Hunan Provincial Committee and Governor of Hunan, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
As one of the top three mineral and gem shows in the world and the largest in Asia, this event serves as a platform for cultural exchange between the East and the West. It attracts industry players from around the globe to gather, communicate, and collaborate, promoting science and civilization.
Building on the experience of the previous two sessions, the Chenzhou exhibition, with the careful organization and coordinated efforts of all participating units, attracted 53 overseas exhibitors from 17 countries and regions, including the United States, France, India, and Brazil, occupying 123 standard booths.

A Show at the Mine Entrance
Chenzhou has a long history and is a city known for its talented individuals, combining ancient charm with openness. The character "郴" is unique to Chenzhou, formed by the combination of "林" (forest) and "邑" (city), meaning "city in the forests." Located north of Mount Heng and south of the Five Ridges, bordering Jiangxi to the east and Yongzhou to the west, Chenzhou is the southern gateway of Hunan Province. It lies in the Nanling polymetallic metallogenic belt, rich in resources and treasures, and boasts multiple honors such as "Hometown of Nonferrous Metals in China," "Hometown of Microcrystalline Graphite," "South China Energy Base," "Silver Capital of China," and "Capital of Ornamental Mineral Crystals in China."
The China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Show was held from May 21 to 25 in Chenzhou, the "Mineral Crystal Capital of China." This was truly a show held at the entrance of a mine.
