FooYoung at the Chenzhou Gem & Mineral Show: Rare Minerals You've Never Seen & Record-Breaking Crowds! In the blink of an eye, we encounter beauty. Welcome to our update! On May 18, 2017, the 5th China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Expo opened in Chenzhou.
This year's expo, jointly hosted by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Land and Resources, and organized by the Hunan Provincial Department of Land and Resources and the Chenzhou Municipal People's Government, was themed "Magical Mineral Crystals, Colorful Fluorite." It spanned 100,000 square meters with 2,600 international standard booths, constituting a distinctive, treasure-filled, rich, and exciting international event for the mineral and gem community, fostering friendship and development.Attendees included numerous domestic and foreign dignitaries, top collectors, museum scientists, and industry leaders. Xi'an FooYoung Mineral Gem Company, the first museum in Northwest China focusing on mineral crystals and gems, was invited to participate. FooYoung meticulously prepared and debuted in dedicated sections: a mineral booth (T44, 114㎡) featuring a large number of world-class mineral specimens, and a jewelry booth (T41, 54㎡) displaying many high-quality, world-class colored gems.Let's first take a look at the FooYoung mineral exhibition~~~
This exhibition was FooYoung's first large-scale public debut after years of preparation. We carefully planned every detail. For instance, the main booth colors were black and gold—black representing steadiness and depth, gold representing high-end luxury—communicating FooYoung's positioning: stable, majestic, high-end, and luxurious!
What kind of stunning mineral crystals could so captivate visitors, causing wave after wave of them to stop, stare mesmerized, take countless photos, and linger unwilling to leave? The pictures below will show you.
Now, check out this heavyweight mineral: The Brazilian Rose.
This vibrant tourmaline crystal is named the "Brazilian Rose" for its rose-like shape. Discovered in 2014 at the historic Cruzeiro mine, this crystal is 22cm wide, 46cm high, weighs approximately 50 lbs (~20 kg), and is one of the largest known tourmalines globally, now housed in the Xi'an FooYoung Mineral Gem Museum. Its rich color, unique form, and large, intact size make it rare even among international museum collections. Immediately after extraction, it was sent to an Italian lab for preservation, meaning very few people had seen it before its debut at the 2016 Chenzhou show, where it caused a sensation. FooYoung proudly presented this mineral again for more people to appreciate its charm and impact!
This exceptional sphalerite specimen was unearthed in the mid-20th century from the world-famous Las Manforas Mine in Spain and was privately held for decades. After extensive effort, this treasure found its home at the Xi'an FooYoung Mineral Gem Museum and made a stunning appearance at this expo. The specimen measures 55x30x38 cm and weighs about 80 kg. The deep red section consists of gem-grade sphalerite (approx. 25,000 carats), complemented by white calcite crystals, making this natural masterpiece exceptionally valuable.Impressed? Want to experience the exhibition firsthand? Beyond the visual impact of exquisite minerals, you might even encounter provincial leaders, CCTV media, or international collectors amidst the crowds!
This year, FooYoung Jewelry also debuted at the Chenzhou show, attracting many customers with its high quality and reasonable prices, making a notable appearance.
We maintained the black-and-gold theme from the mineral section—low-key, luxurious, and meaningful.
While FooYoung's top-tier minerals and luxurious jewelry garnered significant attention, other exhibitors also had excellent, highly popular booths. Let's take a look at a few representative ones...
If Collector's Edge is the McDonald's of the mineral world, then The Arkenstone is definitely KFC! They compete on the same stage, vying for attention at major shows and leading new trends.
Naturally, the China Geological Museum, with its century of history, participated in this grand event, bringing many benchmark mineral specimens.
The above is just a part of the exhibition's highlights. With the show concluding, FooYoung considers this expo a great success—highly internationalized, professional, branded, and standardized—effective in geoscience popularization, resource display, and commerce, allowing exhibitors and visitors alike to experience the unique charm of the "Mineral Crystal Capital, Colorful Chenzhou." We hope every future expo is successful and will continue to participate, supporting the Chenzhou show and the development of China's mineral crystal industry! FooYoung strives forward with everyone.
